“Never allow waiting to become a habit. Live your dreams and take risks. Life is happening now.” — Paulo Coehlo, Writer
Life is a gift we have all been given so if you haven’t unwrapped it fully yet, it’s time to do so. As far as we know you only get one shot at it so what are you waiting for? If you feel like life is passing you by, you may need to stop
what you are doing and change your approach.
All of your dreams and goals are there for the taking and I’ve got some great tips to get you started. You can begin by asking yourself these important questions:
1. What do I love and what am I doing about it?
2. Am I pursuing my dreams or is fear stopping me?
3. What am I doing to live my life with passion?
4. How am I taking care of my health and needs?
5. What am I doing to help others or contribute to my community?
I want you to think about your answers and when you have done that, write down what dreams are still unfulfilled, what goals you haven’t reached yet, and what you would like to change in your life.
It’s never too late to live your best life.
Here’s the thing: it’s NEVER too late to start living the life you want and you are in control of that. Sometimes it just takes a switch in mindset to set you on a new course of discovery and once you do so, you’ll never look back. In fact, you’ll be wondering why you wasted so much time in the first place! Instead of becoming resigned to a dull, monotonous life, start reaching
back to your younger self – the self who is full of dreams, energy, and enthusiasm. That person is still inside you and is just as keen now to experience life to the fullest as it was back then.
● What did you always want to do that you never got around to?
● What do you love doing but never had the time or opportunity?
● What means more to you than anything in the world?
Dig deep into your bag of dreams and desires and start living out each one. You may want to start a business, find a lover, start a new hobby, travel the world, adopt a puppy, learn how to swim, make more money… The list is endless. Once you set your mind to it, you will rediscover those feelings of joy and enthusiasm for whatever it is you want to achieve.
You may say that’s easier said than done, especially if you have been stuck in a mindset of apathy and inertia for a while. But don’t worry; I’m here to help you get back on track with my 10 super tips:
1. Rules are meant to be broken.
You really can do whatever you wish. Don’t be held back by stereotypes or let others tell you what you can and can’t do. It’s your
life and you make the rules!
2. You are good enough.
It’s such a waste to spend your life feeling inferior to others because you are just as worthy as anyone else. Learn a new skill, take up a craft or do something you never thought possible and be proud of who you are and what you have achieved.
3. Slow down and enjoy the ride.
When you are always in a hurry, you miss the simple pleasures of life. Instead of rushing, slow down to chat with your neighbor, enjoy a relaxing walk, take the time to carry out tasks with patience and remove stress. Get off the rollercoaster and set yourself a leisurelypace so you can enjoy each and every moment.
4. Forget your regrets.
Haven’t started writing that book, quit that job, or started that business yet? You may not have done any of the things you wanted to so far in life but that’s no reason to live with regret. Today is a good day to begin and although it may not be easy, if you act now you will reap the future benefits.
5. Be impulsive.
Try to get out of the constant state of limbo you find yourself in. Focus on doing things you know you enjoy and make an effort to realize them. By all means, weigh up your options but don’t let life pass you by because you are indecisive. Once you have all the information you need, take action and go for it!
6. Be yourself.
Life isn’t a rehearsal and you aren’t an actor so stop behaving the way you think people expect you to. Be authentic and let others really get to know the amazing you. You are a wonderful person, full of unique thoughts, ideas, and quirks, so simply be yourself and make more meaningful connections with those around you.
7. Demand more from life.
Why settle for less and have such low expectations? Instead of spending your precious energy moaning about what you don’t have, take action to achieve what you want and put strategies into motion to help you. You won’t get more if you don’t ask for it!
8. Put your mistakes down to experience.
We all make mistakes and if you can see them as a learning process, you can avoid making them again. Rather than feeling like a failure, try again, but this time do things differently and be positive about the outcome. Life is full of ups and downs but don’t let that stop you from enjoying it!
9. Give back to the community.
There is nothing more rewarding than lending a helping hand to those who need it, be that in your neighborhood, local community, or for a national charity. Spend some of your free time volunteering at a food bank or helping out at a homeless shelter and really make a difference in someone else’s life. Any kind gesture will make you feel great too!
10. Laugh often and heartily.
Laughter is a fantastic way to bring more happiness into your life and it helps to raise your positive energy to new heights. Smiling for just 30 seconds will make you feel blissful and the more often you laugh, the better it is for your mental and physical health. Tell a joke, a funny story, or just have a laugh in general and make the most of each day.
It’s also contagious so share the love!
Anything that brings vibrancy to your life will keep you feeling energized and enthusiastic, making you feel fantastic! When you do the things that you love, you will get a deep sense of satisfaction and fulfillment. This can spur you on to go even further, take more risks, get out of your comfort zone, and begin living your greatest life.
We all come into this world naked and leave the same way. What you do in between is up to you but the more you go after your dreams and goals, the happier you will feel. That’s what life is all about, so start living today!
