Have you noticed that even with all this great technology, how complex our lives have become?
Everything has become more complicated.
Whatever happened to “simple”?
Email, pin numbers, passwords, 24/7 access to us by smartphone. Our lives revolve around the screen. TV, Laptop, Phone. We are nearly always constantly engaged.
We even check our phones under the bedcovers before going to sleep.
Some people can’t switch off at all, even when they are driving they are glancing at or talking on their phone. Sure, technology is a great asset, some of it has made our lives better, but it hasn’t made our lives any simpler. Life is just faster, and many of us are constantly seeking instant gratification.
Hustle, Hustle, Hustle, might sound like a good way to do things at first but it often leads to total burnout. The human body and brain is not designed to constantly be in top gear. Too much stress can lead to a stroke, a heart attack, and total breakdown.
Slow Down To Get More
What does this mean? It simply means slowing down and taking life on board more. There is a lot going on out there while you’re watching TV. When was the last time you hit the nature trail, went for a walk in the woods, or looked at some art or historic buildings?.
TV is not always as stress-free as it seems, constantly being a sofa-surfer is not good for health.
We are all here for a reason. That reason is to enjoy the ride, not to burn through life as quickly as possible.

This quote is a good reminder to slow down and enjoy the view. Sure, it’s great to make plans, but let’s enjoy what we have now.
When we slow down, we actually get more done, thinking things through beforehand can save hours of non-planned time. We will also enjoy our time more. Slowing down means taking time out, time away to think. Turn off all the outside noise and the constant chatter within our brain by seeking solitude. Take a pad, journal, and pen, and write down all of the things that you love about your life at the moment. Then write down all of the things you would like to improve.
If you don’t love anything, think of things to create.
The Morning Routine
Next, write down a plan on how you are going to improve things. Take time every day to add to your journal. Follow a good, healthy morning routine. Wake up early, drink a full glass of water as soon as you get out of bed to get properly hydrated, have a good cold shower to wake up properly, do some exercise, then read a few pages from a good positive book, and then, get journaling.
Don’t reply to overnight messages and emails until you’ve completed your morning routine. And then allocate time periods during the day when you’ll reply to emails. If you are constantly replying to texts, facebook messages and emails all day long, you’ll get less done.
After a few short weeks, you will start to feel better, you will be more aware of your surroundings, and more alive in the mornings and this will dictate how the rest of your day will go. Once you start to slow down, you will get more done, your brain will not feel so scattered, and you will prioritize things instead of trying to juggle everything at once.
Good planning is the answer. You get more done, but you also get more time to do the things you love.
P,.S People often ask me how I keep such a positive attitude. It’s simple really, I look forward to every day, I sleep well, I do a morning routine and I don’t listen to negative crap.
