Stop Begging. Start Ordering Your Money Like Coffee – Florence Scovel Shinn

Stop begging. Seriously, quit it. You don’t walk into Starbucks, fall on your knees, and whisper, “Please, oh divine coffee gods, just one cappuccino with extra foam. I’ll be forever grateful.” No, you strut up to the counter and say, “I’ll have a cappuccino, extra foam, thank you very much.” And guess what? You expect it. You don’t doubt the barista’s ability to froth milk. You don’t wonder if the universe has run out of espresso beans. You place your order, and you wait for it to arrive. That’s exactly how you should treat money.

But most people don’t. Instead, they talk to money like it’s an annoyed landlord. “Please, just a little more so I can pay this bill. I promise I’ll be good.” Newsflash: the universe doesn’t reward desperation, it rewards certainty. Begging sends out scarcity vibes, and what you send out is what you get back. Ordering, on the other hand, is a whole different energy. Ordering says: “It’s mine. It’s done. Coming right up.”

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Keith, that’s easy for you to say. My bank account doesn’t even have enough for a small black coffee, let alone a caramel latte.” Believe me, I’ve been there. I know that soul-leaving-your-body feeling when you check your balance. But here’s the thing: money isn’t avoiding you. It’s responding to your energy.

When you order coffee, you don’t hover by the counter every thirty seconds asking if they forgot your drink. But that’s what most people do with their desires. They affirm abundance in the morning, and by lunchtime, they’re back to worrying about bills. Imagine the angels at the cosmic café rolling their eyes: “Sir, your order is literally being prepared. Please take a seat.”

So how do you actually order money?

Let’s keep this simple.

Step one: Watch your words. Saying “I’m broke” is like hitting the cancel button on your spiritual Starbucks app. Replace it with declarations like: “Money flows to me easily. Prosperity is circulating in my life right now.” Even if your wallet feels emptier than a politician’s promise, say it with faith.

Step two: Visualize. Just like you can almost taste your favorite coffee before it’s in your hands, you need to feel financial ease before it shows up. Imagine paying your bills with joy, giving without fear, waking up calm because your money worries are being handled. That’s the frequency you’re sending out.

Step three: Act in faith. Faith doesn’t sit around binge-watching Netflix waiting for a check to fall from the sky. It moves. It invests. It applies for opportunities. It gives when guided. You don’t have to spend recklessly, but you do have to stop making every choice from fear.

Step four: Gratitude in advance. You don’t wait until your name is called to start smiling; you trust that cup is coming. Same with money. Thank the universe before it shows up. That’s the energy that speeds delivery.

Step five: Stay consistent. Nothing kills a spiritual order faster than panic. You wouldn’t scream at the barista two minutes after ordering. So stop screaming at the universe. Hold steady.

Money loves confidence

Here’s the fun part: money actually likes confidence. It’s drawn to it. When you act desperate, money tends to hide. But when you walk like someone who already has more than enough, money starts chasing you. You become magnetic. That’s not arrogance. That’s alignment.

And if you’re still sceptical, let me drop a little story. A woman once prayed every morning, “Please God, give me just enough to get by.” Nothing changed. One day, she got fed up and declared, “I am a magnet for money. I command abundance now.” Within days, she received an unexpected payment, a job offer, and even a random refund she hadn’t known she was owed. The moment she stopped begging and started commanding, everything shifted.

Here’s the bottom line: the universe doesn’t hand out crumbs when you were born to command banquets. Stop pleading. Stop doubting. Speak like someone who knows the universe listens. Because it does. Every word you say is a seed, every belief is a magnet.

So what’s your order today? Peace of mind? Financial freedom? Unexpected income? Whatever it is, place it with confidence. Smile. Feel it as though it’s already yours. Then walk away knowing the universe is working on your order right now.

And when it shows up, because it will, don’t forget to enjoy that first sip.

Have a great day

Keith
