Chichester is a cathedral city in West Sussex, located in South-East England. It is the only city in West Sussex. It has a long history as a settlement from Roman times and was important in Anglo-Saxon times.
Chichester is a city with many shops and restaurants. It has a theatre, a cinema, many fast-food franchises, and pubs, it has plenty of supermarkets and car parks. It really caters to everyone here.
I came this way after visiting my cousin. She has lived in Chichester since the 1970’s, my attention turned to Chichester after selling my house in 2017 and then spending months travelling the UK.
The UK is a beautiful place, when you live in a country, you may not get to see much of it outside of your home town, this is a shame. The more I travel around the UK, the more I really like it.
Although there are no beaches in Chichester, they are not far away. You can reach the beaches of Bognor Regis in around 15 minutes from the City centre or you could visit Billy’s on The Beach for breakfast, lunch or morning coffee at Bracklesham Bay. This is around 10 to 15 minutes away from Chichester.
Chichester also has a marina with hundreds of boats on show. The marina also has a nice cafe called the Boat House Cafe for anyone who wants to wander in and dine in a bit of style or maybe just pop in for a coffee.
There are also lots of country pubs surrounding Chichester.
Chichester also boasts the Goodwood racing circuit, which holds the world-famous festival of speed. And of course, Goodwood racecourse. Fast cars and fast (or slow) horses go hand in hand here.
If I could sum up Chichester in a few words, I would say it’s very historic, full of boaty, horsey, speedy types who love classic cars. It’s a student city with lots to do and great fun.
If you’re ever in these parts and i’m still living here, drop in and we’ll do lunch or coffee. I think you will love the place.
All the best
Keith
